Monthly Highlights Update: Autumn 2023

We are now well and truly into the month of September, and as you may or may not have noticed, we have yet to issue a monthly highlights update.

Whilst it would be great to announce that this was all part of some grand plan, this is simply not the case: we forgot. It has nevertheless been a very busy month at Rocking at the Hops, and you can now check out our most recent article (the result of some excellent fieldwork), on The Beatles, nostalgia, and community and tourism in Liverpool!

As for the monthly highlights, we are pleased to announce an update like no other, as we have made the decision to issue a one-off seasonal highlights, with three albums that will remain highlighted throughout Autumn, until December.

Last month, we celebrated rock icon Mick Jagger's birthday (and pre-emptively the release of the new Rolling Stones' single "Angry"), by focusing on three of the band's albums across the decades, with 1974's "It's Only Rock and Roll," 1983's "Undercover," and 1997's "Bridges to Babylon."

Giving the Stones a little more airtime than originally intended, we now see three new albums take over for the remainder of Autumn 2023. And what better to feature as extended highlights than the best of the best...compilation albums! Representing September, October, and November, are three of the most commercially well received compilation albums of all time, the greatest of the greatest hits! Head on over to the home page to check them out!
