As of October 2024, Rocking at the Hops is approaching an exciting milestone. On the 11th October 2024, it will be our second birthday!
This announcement comes after two years of producing articles on a variety of topics surrounding music and culture, and regular monthly updates, where we highlight three chosen albums across the history of popular music.
As of November 2024, and for a number of reasons, we have made the decision to bring an end to Rockin' at the Hops. This is an announcement that comes with a caveat, in that we hope this will only be temporary, with the aim to return to posting articles and resuming monthly album highlights sometime in the future. As for now, however, we will unfortunately be ceasing any further activity on the website.
Now we couldn't leave things without doing one final monthly highlights update. Last month, for September, we celebrated the 1994 release of Notorious B.I.G's debut album Ready to Die, by looking at three of the greatest early East-Coast Hip-Hop albums, including "The Low End Theory" by a Tribe Called Quest, "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" by the Wu-Tang Clan, and "Illmatic" by Nas.
For October, and for our final monthly highlights update, we our returning to our roots: Rock and Roll. We have selected three of our favourite albums from three distinct periods of Rock and Roll music history, and it is no more simple than that. Head on over to the home page to check them out!
And last but not least, we would like to say a huge thank you to all those who have enjoyed our content over the last two years, and it is with a heavy heart that we here at Rocking at the Hops must bid you goodbye.
For now...
